Currently in the process of moving my current and savings account from Smile to Nationwide.

Should I just leave current IS A with Smile and start a new one or transfer it over? CAN I move an IS A or does it lose/use it's tax free status

When it comes to finances my username is entirely appropriate?

Yes you can move an ISA between providers- juts make sure you do a transfer rather than withdrawing and depositing the balance.

For all finance related questions I would advise checking out https://www.reddit.com/r/UKPersonalFinance/ They have a good flowchart which helps simplify most personal finance related decision making- particularly what to do with savings etc.

Thanks. I'll take a look at that. I thought reddit was just full of memes and porn.

You can only move it into a new ISA which accepts transfers. But this is not normally a good time of year to change.
Are you thinking of changing it because of your current accounts? You don't need to have them all with the same provider.

I was thinking that it's probably best to do mid april

NB: you do not do the ISA transfer yourself, you reqest your new ISA provider to execute the transfer. And there are also rules about what you can and can't transfer of the current year's subscription, so check carefully.

Also, now may not be the best time to move an ISA. Barclays Stockbrokers have really mucked up their offering, and Barclays Stockbrokers clients are leaving in droves so other providers ISA transfer departments are just a little bit busy.
