Thanks for that. Interesting stuff, and as the commentator says, a brutal form of warfare with thousands on both sides being killed by avalanches triggered by the enemy.
I've seen some of the mountain warfare engineering works in the Dolomites, and of course WW1 was when the original via ferratas were constructed to move troops up and down the mountains.
