Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend any bunkhouses or similar in the Avon gorge area?

We are looking to climb here for the first time in a couple of weeks and it's a bit late in the year for camping,

I had a quick search of the forums but couldn't find any other similar posts.

Thanks

Lee

It's not really a bunkhouse sort of area, as it's effectively in the centre of Bristol.

There's a YHA down by the harbourside, which is probably about 20 minutes to half an hours walk from the crag. Can't think of anything closer off the top of my head unless you can find a cheap hotel or b&b.

YHA down by the harbour side is in a good location if you want a bit of night life after climbing.

Yep. YHA or Air BnB are more prevalent than bunkhouses. There's dorms at The Full Moon at the bottom of Stokes Croft if you don't mind things lively.

Sleep the night on Lunchtime Ledge?

The toilets have a permanent family living there, these days. You might get a bed in one of the railway tunnels, but these fill up early with the Clifton hotel workers. The Ledge is generally seen as not quite as comfortable as the railway tunnels.
