I’m looking for s a pair of B1 rated boot but in a wide fit, I’ve been to a specialist boot supplier but am struggling to find and wide fit, anyone got any suggestions of such boots?

Most of hanwag's trekking boots have a "wide" variant.

Thanks for the reply. Yes they do, but their standard fit is quite narrow, so what they call a wide fit is only on the wider side of a regular width, not truly a wide fit

there is no such thing as a wide mountaineering boot, either put up being crippled by boots that are the right length and too narrow, or wide enough but too long so they give you blisters. I gave up winter climbing for this reason.

Try Altberg

https://www.altberg.co.uk/

They do all of their boots in a variety of widths and will make custom models if you're feet are properly duck like!  Mallerstang is their only B1 boot I think though.  Give them a call - very helpful normally.

Bonus of being a British company too.

Cheers,

Stu

I have wide feet too, and Hanwag are the widest I've found so far. Even the standard width is still more generous than Scarpa or LS

Have you tried the Ferrata Combi Wide? While in theory a B2, it's very lightly insulated so suitable for summer too. I use them for scrambling/mountain walking and I find them great.

It may be worth noting that Scarpa UK do not import all models from Italy, which has been a continual frustration for me. I have had a pair of Scarpa Triolets for ever and a day now because they have been absolutely perfect for my reasonably wide feet. Everything I had from them before was a disaster... shame they don't import them (unless something has changed?)

Decathlon seem to stock them, assuming they're the same thing: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triolet-gtx-boots-id_8364160.html

Scarpa SLs  come in wide and double wide if you can get em BX and BXX - well they used to.

I thought i'd need an extra wide but i tried some on in Outside in Hathersage (years ago)  and went for the usual BX.

other thing would be to check Altberg (which i now see has been said/linked)

I think that that might have a lot to do with which shop you deal with.  I was drawing a blank in getting a half size (supposedly not available in the UK)  until I spoke to Cold Mountain Kit, who happily got a pair in for me - there is a quid pro quo of commitment (which boils down to a return fee if not suitable), but if you know what you want.....

The triolet is not listed on the Scarpa UK website, but is on the Italian one. The fact that Decathelon has it may be to do with where they are delivering their stock from? I've only ever seen the triolet in europe...

What have you tried and NOT fit?  If you wear running shoes, which ones? What are the boots for?

I've only ever seen Triolet in Europe too, I assume d they're old stock
