University of Nottingham is seeking a dynamic, vibrant and professional climbing wall assistant to join our experienced Climbing Wall Team at the David Ross Sports Village.

Daily duties will include delivering beginner and intermediate level climbing sessions, giving help and guidance to members, walking the wall floor to engage, interact and look after the well-being and motivation of our members.  Additional duties will also involve completing facility health and safety checks, general maintenance of the climbing wall, route setting, and organising climbing wall events and challenges.

Successful candidates will hold a Climbing Wall Instructor qualification (or equivalent) and have experience of delivering climbing instruction within an indoor climbing wall to both adults and children, be enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated and have excellent communication, organisation and customer care skills with an energetic and outgoing personality. Route setting and foundation coach qualifications would be desirable.

This is a full time, permanent position 36.25hrs per week and candidates will need to be flexible in their approach to their working hours, noting that the operational hours range between 05.30am and 11.00pm seven days a week.

Post holders may occasionally be asked to work outside of normal working hours, for some events and essential wall maintenance.

Interviews will take place on 18 September 2018.

Must be pretty full on if you are working before 5.30 am and after 11pm.

Job is 36.25 hours per week - centre is open from 6.30am to 10.30pm (operational hours) - normal working hours are usually 8am to 5pm.
