Looking to buy a winter boot with integral gaiter. I need a wide/high foot fit rather than low/narrow like La Sportiva etc. Scarpa Phantom Techs obviously have the problem with the sole. Tried some Kayland 4001 boots, fit is narrow/low. Does anyone know what the fit is like in Zamberlan Eiger?
I have wide feet, and usually go with Scarpa, Raichle (Mammut) or Bestard. I've tried the Zamberlan Eigers and they're a narrow, Salewa/La Sportiva-type fit. Have you tried Boreal or Lowa? They're usually fairly wide. The Arc'teryx ARs might work too, but not if your midfoot is very high.
I'm not sure there is a gaiter but I borrowed a pair of Boreal boots last year for a week in Scotland and a week up in Norway....think they were called Arwa??! They are blue if you look them up. I have wide feet especially where my toes join my foot and find I struggle with the usual scarpa or la sportiva options.....the Boreal boots were the most comfy I've worn since my old Koflachs many seasons ago!
