I have been buying salomon Speedcross trainers for a few years now and I have had issues with two pairs. The tread is fine but the internal cloth at the heal wears aware fairly quickly (within 3-4 months)
I am wondering if there are any alternatives out there with stitched heels that will last longer?
Not an alternative, but my heels chew through the backs and have found that putting a strip of gaffa tape from under the insole, up the fabric and over the lip stops it wearing through (maybe reduces friction in this area?)
I've long had that issue with all Salomon shoes and so don't buy them. Might be an idea to try other brands as being a different shape - it's the shape of the heel fitting causing rubbing that is to me the issue, not the type of fabric or stitching used.
I also seem to have that issue with Scarpa boots but not with most other brands.
