I have a 120 foot "No 3" laid nylon rope in quite good condition -it's been stored indoors and is only slightly "hill-grubby". It was a gift for my 21st birthday in 1963. I'd like to find it a good home with someone who appreciates genuine vintage kit. It would make an excellent decorative item. Any suggestions how I might go about placing it please? (I think there are a couple of slings somewhere too)

Wow.  That sounds like the sort of thing the Mountain Heritage Trust might be interested in.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think I saw a post there a while back saying they were particularly interested in collecting items of vintage equipment they can allow people to handle.  (As opposed to 'precious things' that need keeping in a glass case.)
