Recommendations please , either side of the centre , cheap and cheerful or “ mid “ ( whatever that means ). . Warm and dry being top of the list of requirements .  For comparison. , the camping pods at glencoe are ideal . It’s for taking the kids skiing so not camping . Watching the web cams make me think that Glenshee might be the first to open .

Rucksacks Hostel in Braemar is comfortable, plus you have all the facilities at your doorstep. Staying south of the ski centre leaves you with fewer options.

If you are not adverse to Youth Hostels, there is one in Braemar.

Looking at the Hostelling Scotland website it looks like it's closed/ rent a hostel until 1st April. If this link works you can check availability month by month (click the red Check Availability link): https://www.hostellingscotland.org.uk/hostels/braemar/

Braemar hostel used to open just at weekends in the winter (I have stayed there a lot in the past) but since covid very few Hostelling Scotland hostels are open in the winter.

Another option, that's a little further away is Ballater Hostel, https://www.ballater-hostel.com/ the owners are lovely and they appear to be open.
