Web hosting problem?

I noticed that it takes over a minute to open my blog, previously it took a few seconds (one friend couldn’t open it at all). Photos on my website still open straight away.

Can anyone tell me if there is a problem with the blog or website, or is it a browser issue?

I'm currently on my phone, so I can't do it for you, but you can use the inspector on Chrome to record page loads and see what it is that is delaying it. Chances are it's going to be the host for some third party JS your blog uses.

In reply to Colin Moody:

You have a javascript file called search.js

Which is hosted here

http://www.me.com/1/up/comments/scripts/search.js

Or rather not since it is failing.

Looks like that is blocking the load since the site is waiting for it before giving up.

Thanks, have you any idea what I can do about it?

In reply to Colin Moody:

You need to remove the reference to search.js in the head of the HTML documents. Looks like it's only on the blog pages.

Thanks.

I know nothing about websites and just used the apple templates, l expect I'll need professional help.

The comments box was ticked even though comments haven't been possible for years. I thought that might be the problem so unticked the box and republished the blogs but don't think it made any difference.

Yes it is still there.

Is there a search button checkbox? If so try disabling that.

Search was ticked, but not now.

Still seems dodgy. I would try looking up a forum for your software (looks like its some ancient apple software no longer formally supported) and see if there is any useful advice since I would assume some others have come across it.

Ok thanks a lot for your help. Maybe it's time to move it.
