1980’s/90’s Helly fluffy fleece with long back and thumb loops. Anyone remember its name?

In reply to Ross o’Brien:

 Highly Henson 261 Field jacket

Still use it have a perTex it was Taylor made to fit over the top

The recent post about buffalo jackets it will fit under a buffalo jacket just it’s fit for  cairngorms  plateau at that point Add the string vest and you look hyperthermic trying to take clothing off because you’re too hot

In reply to Name Changed 34:

Ideal. Many thanks. It certainly looks similar!

I think we had another thread on this only the other day. The nearest thing is the Lausanne but they stopped making it? nobody has it in stock. The nearest alternative are the lighter thinner Basel (excellent mid layer, but single not double pile)

Or if you can get it, the thicker and closer to original, heritage pile jacket

Maybe of interest to any caver-diggers? https://www.hhworkwear.com/en_gb_ww/heritage-pile-one-piece-72182?color=324...

I looked at both of those originally, partly due to the foul colour. Wasnt sure if it was the same zero windproof pile though.

The Dutch/German army surplus stuff is identical or maybe the same. Feels the same. Not the double pile but the stuff with a pile on the inside and an outer that soon fluffs up. I so miss my old jumper. I am sure it was called the Lumberjack but maybe wrong. Bump flap, short zip, thumbloops but no knitted cuffs wheich hold water. Bought in effect, inside out as you wore them fluffy side in. Must have been a reversable zip?

Best kit ever.

Still use the pile salopettes. They were a thing!

I’ve just emailed a great company to see if they can make me a Lausanne copy.

Fingers double crossed.

No, in olive green, navy or black. Old style, superb pile, NOT fleece

In reply to Dave the Rave:

Pile will do; do you have contact details?

In reply to Name Changed 34:

Yeah found that last week and was oos; wrong colour for me but i still think will give it a punt. Many thanks

In reply to Ross o’Brien:

Hi Ross

I got a knock back from the company who I asked to make one, but understand why they can’t.

I tried to buy the one in the post above a while back and couldn’t actually order one.

Would you let me know how you get on please?

In reply to Dave the Rave:

Aye. That i will!
