Montane Protium Vs Protium XT (non hooded, full zip)

Hello team,

Tried on the XT as was the only version in the shop. Tough exterior. Ideal for working outdoors, but will end up being too warm come spring. 
 

Has anyone tried the NON XT version?

Is it tough?

It's not got the same face fabric as the xt, much softer

Patagonia do or did something similar an R1 and an R2 techface or tech something. The R1 being the same feel as a protium xt with the softshell outer but lighter and the r2 techface being the same weight roughly as the protium xt. So the R1 tech face may be a good choice as it's not as warm as the protium xt but with the durable outer.
