Hi,

I have a pair of scarpa phantom techs from 2019. I love them but the fabric on the instep isn't very robust and I've ripped it a few times with my crampons. I tried repairing with tenacious tape but that didn't last one winter day. Any advice on other tape/material I could repair with? Or anywhere to send for professional repairs?

Thanks in advance

In reply to roym:

Put masking tape on one side, make a blob of glue (I think any rubber glue/shoe glue will work; I use Aquasure) on the other side covering the hole, wait for it to cure, and repeat on the other side if you feel that's necessary. That's what I do to my Phantom Techs. Probably only works for small damaged areas, holes rather than cuts.

I just got my old Phantoms back from Scarpa after a resole - their UK distributor sorted it, and are probably a good place to check about fabric repairs too. Coincidentally, they,  Mountain Boot Co, have an ad for an aftersales job to the right my screen as I type.
