My last few visits has seen them submerged.
Anyone able to update on the current state of them?
Cheers
Fred

River, and lake, levels are freely available on line.

For a similar crossing in the Duddon valley or the Thirlmere boulders I look at the levels at the nearest measuring station.

Fickle steps , if the river level is above 1.0 m I know its not passable, 0.7 m is not too scary. Highest recorded is something like 2m.

Worth taking note of levels if you go often.

I've found the River levels for Mytham Bridge which is a short distance up stream from the Stepping Stones

Wether the stones are passable or not I've no idea. Wear your gaiters.

Thanks. I never knew!

Had the same issue the other week and had to completely jettison a walk plan for it. Shame so much of the bank is no public access to be able to walk round!

So, today, with the levels at 1.16m it is only possible for the very brave. Not for me.

Further up the river.. so might tell you whether the stones are likely to get more water coming towards them

Nearer the stepping stones
