The SMC has continued its development of new routes online content. The latest is to include user-submitted topos, when available) on the new routes website (https://smc.org.uk/climbs/newroutes). These appear under the crag or buttress heading in question. The rule is that should not replicate any content of the SMC's printed guides or SMC info on the Rockfax App. Nearly 400 topos have been loaded so far. The monthly Blog (https://smc.org.uk/climbs/blog) gives an update on new routes received during the past month, with links to the routes and crags in question for easy reference. So the good news is, for new routers in Scotland, your topos will no longer disappear into a black hole, they will get published quickly on the website. We particularly welcome topos made using the topoeditor tool that is available on the new routes submission page, or as a free public facility at https://topoeditor.com. This is easy to use and you can download your own copy. Downloaded in svg format, the topos remain editable for updates and corrections.
