My friend and I are heading to Nepal next October to walk the Annapurna Circuit. Are there any recommendations out there for reputable, ethical, and sustainable trekking agencies that others have used before? We are looking for an operator that strikes a good balance between cost to us, and fairness for locals and environment. Would prefer Nepal-based but UK based also OK. TIA!

Have a look at Evertrek- were superb for us recently on a trip to Island Peak and they put a lot back into the Nepalese communities and the Sherpas.

a women owned, local, ethical and sustainable option, which we had a great experience with (in 2008 and they are still going strong). They make extensive use of female guides and porters. They didn’t mind having a male member of the party (me) but don’t accept all male bookings.
