Anyone able to let me know what the velcro bit is on the back of the hood on a Paramo Velez Evolution Smock? its just under the hood tension toggle.  It seems too small to use to reduce hood volume as its about 5cm long, there is no other velro bit you could use to roll the hood up like other coats and it isnt elasticated or like the arms where it pulls out of a socket. I did wonder if its some kind of random stop you loosing your head torch thing but even that doesnt seem to add up in my head!

thanks

If I remember rightly it should go through the little tab inside the collar of jacket you use to hang it up ( not sure if it has an official name... ) so you can roll the hood up , I think ... !

I'm now concerned what else I have missed in that jacket.  I have had mine about 9 months and I just had to go and look for what you are describing.

Must be for rolling up the hood as prev poster suggested

That seems to work and makes sense, thanks for clearing up the confusion.

Have to say tho when wearing the coat with the hood rolled up it's really uncomfy, what were Paramo thinking of?!

I have another Paramo coat from years ago and the hood on that is held on with just poppers, really comfy when rolled away but a total pita to get out if the weather turns as you have to unclip and re-clip most of it into place and to make it worse it has poppers to close it up from the neck to the top, a total faff with gloves on.

Somewhat sad to find that in 15 years they still haven't sorted hood storage out, it's not difficult!
