Hello, I discovered that there is a peak on Tian Shan called Vazha Pshavela, who was a very interesting and influential poet in my country Georgia.  I am struggling to find the origin of this peak and why it is called after the Georgian poet. If anybody could suggest where should i look for please help, thank you in advance!

In reply to Anama:

Welcome to UKClimbing.

This peak was named during an expedition organised by the Alpine Club of Georgia in 1961. The team was mostly of Georgian descent. That tragic expedition attempted to traverse the entire Pobeda massif. You can read more about it in the memoir of Kirill Kuzmin, one of the team members.
