We're in Gateshead next weekend for an event with a few hours to spare. What's the best bouldering wall for someone climbing up to V10/11? Thanks.

Wrong side of the river, but the downstairs training area at Climb Newcastle the Valley in Byker is great. Good Circuit board, splatter board that no one uses, then 10, 30 , 45 and 55 boards with LEDs and various hardwood and beastmaker holds , 20 (?) moonboard , and the 40 moonboard with the 2024 holds

There’s a new Eden Rock wall a bit further along the coast road but I’ve not been yet so can’t comment

Friction bouldering in Gateshead is good, quite compact mind. It's my preferred wall when I'm up in Newcastle on work.

+1 for the Valley in Byker - big site, training areas downstairs usually much quieter than the main hall. Alternatively have a look at Whickham Thorns - it's free and outside (and avoids the nightmare traffic over the Tyne), although the grades might not be quite what you're after.

Thanks for all the replies, really helpful. Sounds like the Byker one is worth a look.
