Sorry if this has been asked/answered before- what is the cheapest/reliable way to post skis in UK. I'm about to eBay some Salomon Stance 184s with Salomon Shift 10s and fitted skins. Thanks!

This will probably help. Or not...

Van bumper and a pair of skis are pretty similar size, shape & weight...

In reply to captain paranoia:

The skis I arranged to have shipped from London to Edinburgh were ~7kgs and the package was 185cm long.  I used ParcelForce: it cost ~35 back in 2019 (so might be more expensive now); for that they collected the package from the sender and delivered to me in 48 hours.

In reply to captain paranoia:

Couriers often have far better rates for 'tubes' than 'oversized boxes', so possibly skis may be able to be packed to take advantage of that.

I sold a pair 2 years ago and sent them with parcel force, I just posted them at local post office.

I just sent a pair by UPS . Volumetric pricing worked out surprisingly cheap even with home pick up. £10.79

Several couriers that I previously used seem to have reduced length of items that they would take.

I posted a pair quite recently and found most places won't send items that long but eventually found someone through Interparcel

Look on the shore fishing forums (rod postage).  From memory, parcelforce will do it, but not online.

In reply to pec:

Everyone through Interparcel was quoting £30 plus. I repeat...UPS for under £11 with home pick up and delivery within 48 hours.

Snap them into 4, it'll make your packing easier and saves the Royal Mail the trouble of doing it 🤣
