Clearly not for me, but my son is tall and very slim. Can anyone recommend a make that is a good fit (ie long in the arms and good length but not baggy in the body) ?

Patagonia R1 are pretty long in the body and a slim fit.

Thanks. Was thinking Patagonia anyway.

Any of the genuine Nordic brands?

Try Mountain Equipment.  They cut jackets to that shape.

I'm tall and slim. Patagonia, Sherpa and Simond (Decathlon) work for me.

How have I reached 50 years of age and never seen that one before?

+1 for ME. Their gear fits my gangly frame great, always enough length in the waist and arms, and a nice slim fit on the torso.

Yeah Fjallraven, Haglofs, Devold, or Bergans should be good. Most have a wool obsession though (definitely the latter two), so may not have the most extensive range of true-fleece jackets.

For a good slim fit I'd recommend Salewa, definitely not for my body shape but those enviable people with long arms and a slim fit it's the nuts.

A lot of people recomending Patagonia which is a little strange in my experience. I really like a lot of their kit but none of it fits me. I am 6"2 skinny and a very positive ape index. I find there stuff is too big in the body and to short on the arms. I am sure it was modelled on a T-rex? But maybe they have change?

I tend to find I have to look at certain ranges and models with in each brand.

I have some of the Millet (French brand) that fits well, I used to be supported by them so have a bit of their kit. But only the alpine stuff the other ranges didn't fit as well. I also use Mountain equipment they have models/ranges that work for those who can scratch their knees with out bending over.

As others have said quite a few of the Scandi Brands have a taller thinner fit.

In reply to ecrinscollective: I think it depends on the model and cut.

I'm similar in shape and dimensions to you and I agree that some Patagonia is as you describe. I find that the more technical the garment the more athletic the cut. I confess to still being under the spell of a couple of decades ago when they were about the only manufacturer who made clothing for people like me rather than the then prevalent 'no shoulders and expecting twins' cut of of most other brands.

I don't know what Arcteryx are like, I bought a Gamma softshell in a sale and it's a perfect fit, roomy in the shoulders, long in the arms and slim round the torso.
