UKC

Hi all,

looking for something to take my father to for a Christmas present. Always get great recommendations from the UKC collective so I’m asking again. 
Some kind of talk by a climber/adventurer. We went to the Kenton Cool talk in Buxton recently which was great. 
Also interested in folk music and science/space stuff. 
Any venue around Yorks/Lancs or the Peak is feasible.

Does somewhat Christmassy folk music fit the bill?

If so: 'Awake Arise', a sort of festive annual collaboration between Lady Maisery and Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith, in Sheffield tomorrow (14th) or York on Sunday (15th) will be absolutely outstanding.

Not quite a ‘talk’ but the Banff Mountain Film Festival is on at the Hebden Bridge Picture House at the end of Jan and also a couple of dates later in the year too…
