Measuring back lengths for rucksack sizing

Does anyone know if there is a standard way of measuring back lengths for rucksack sizing? Or do individual rucksack manufacturers all have their own ways of doing things?

Then click "Size chart" next to Choose a rucksack torso size. There is an explanation there.

Yes, if you are notably shorter or taller than the rucksack.
