I am doing Annapurna Circuit in March this year. I am using a guide and porter who will carry 10kg for me. Looking for some advice on gear and clothing. Should I take my axe and crampons, I don't think I do but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I did it back in 2015, didn't have any special equipment, most people wore micro spike on the day you go over the pass but I didn't bother. I didn't see a single person with an axe or crampons.

Thank you Andy,

Did you enjoy it?

Clothing, just normal hill gear

Just a big jacket for the pass day from what I remember.

Just spoke to my wife who was also on the trek and she said that I was slipping and sliding all over the place so probably a good idea to take spikes. Sunglasses are also important.

I've done it on a mountain bike.

Didn't carry axes or crampons, although did think if it got that bad, I'd just strap my pedals to my shoes, but there wasn't actually any snow at the top - at least, not on the main path.

Definitely echo the big jacket for the summit camp. It was really windy and the chill was pretty fierce.

Honestly, you probably don't need a porter, though.

You could buy spikes on route for not a lot of money
