Soft shell Recommendation

Currently wear the Rab Torque for pretty much everything with varying layers underneath, but I have lost a lot of weight recently and its far too big. I am a bit of a tart so the fact they no longer make it in yellow has upset me!

Any recommendation of similar soft shells (preferably in yellow!) - looking for something that is not / very lightly insulated, wind proof, preferably stretchy. Tempted by a Rab VR but I find the sleeves are too short.

What will you use it for? There is such a wide range of softshells now - and things that are a called softshells but behave far more like hardshells I find! - that what you want it for will make a difference.

The Torque in red looks nice - not as bright as yellow but probably doesn't look dirty as easily! If that jacket has been good, why not keep with it? Is it just the colour thing?

I'm currently trying out the new Montane Nordus softshell - they designed it particularly for ski mountaineering although I've used it only for mountaineering so far. It's great, fantastic hood, great articulation, Windstopper front but non membrane softshell back for stretch and breathability. But at 275 they are not cheap, and not what I would get for a knock-about, wear to go cragging etc. sort of softshell.

The Squall is good, like all the other ME ranges, there's no yellow in the current season colourways. ME is definitely a good choice if you find Rab stuff too short in the arms.

I have the Kinesis and Squall jackets which cover me year round, both in yellow, but no way I'll be parting with them!
