Hi there,

My partner and I are thinking of heading to Greece next autumn for 2 weeks, so I'm reaching out with the hopes of gaining any insight. The only certain place we'll be going to is Meteora, as we love multi-pitches and the scenery looks incredible.

Other than Meteora, the road is open. We'll be flying to Athens, renting a car, and staying in apartments along the way. 

The two things we're most keen on include multi-pitch routes and being by the sea/idyllic settings (though this won't be hard in Greece!).

If you have suggestions for areas or crags, that'd be greatly appreciated! I also have my eye on Aris Theodoropoulos's guidebook, Greece Sport Climbing: Best Of. If anyone has insight into whether there are multis in here, that'd be great!

Of course, we'll be doing single pitch as well, but the more adventures, the better (for us, anyways).

Hi Chris, thanks for these! I read your first article on UKC (North), but couldn't find the second one on the South, so this is great.  

Which areas did you visit in the South? Any specific crags you'd recommend? Thanks!

I never did an article on the Southern Loop. We visited Frygani (again), Solomos, Nedousa (didn't do much there, couldn't get across the river), Lagada, Kardamyli, Zobolo and Vilchada on the way to Leonidio. All worth a visit though less multi-pitch then on the Northern Loop

Hi, not sure if you have specific areas you want to visit other than being close to the sea, but Zilnia on Mt. Olympus would be a good option. This site, https://routes.gr/?Page=en/Climbing/Locations/Olympos-Zilnia has some info on the routes in Zilnia but also all around Greece. I have done few climbs there and know the area well, so happy to answer any questions you might have. There is also Varasova that might fit your criteria, https://routes.gr/?Page=en/Climbing/Areas/Varasova . I have never been there myself, but people I know that have climbed there loved the place.
