I can recommend 'Pioneers of the Alps' by Cunningham & Abney.  Everything you want to know about the great guides of the 19th century.  Available free online on Google Internet Archive.  Should keep you quietly engaged for a couple of hours ....

Ulrich Inderbinen

He retired at 97 years of age after taking +10 mins on Guide Book time to complete an ascent of the Breithorn.

Often overlooked, the self-effacing Michael Darbellay.  He made the first solo ascent of the Eigerwand in 1963 and many other major climbs, https://services.thebmc.co.uk/michel-darbellay-19342014

Ah, but - referencing the OP - does he have stuff on Youtube?

In reply to abcdefg:

Conrad Kain Swiss guide, pioneered a load of climbs in the Canadian  Rockies in the early twentieth century, very impressive CV  Kain route Robson, Kain route Bugaboo spire,  Kain route mount Louis  bit of a theme going on, as hard as nails and a bit of an influencer.

Ueli Steck wasn’t a mountain guide, he was first a carpenter and then a professional climber, no time for hauling clients up the Hörnli!

Aye but he said / alpinist and you can't mention Swiss alpinist without Ueli.

Perhaps someone a little bit different: Eugen Brigger.

He lives in Brig down in the Valais and did almost all peaks there completely on foot, straight from his homebase.

Most stuff (book, website) are in german, I found just a little YT:
