I have recently received advice to have a procedure on my right  (dominant) elbow ‘Outer bridge Kashiwagi’ procedure. This is due tomorrow restricted movement and bone spurs caused by early arthritis. My question to the good people of UKC is, have any of you successfully had either this procedure or similar and recovered enough to continue climbing to previous abilities?

In reply to Drummer:

Surgery seems a bit radical to correct a dominant elbow.  Have you tried giving it a good talking to?

Sorry, I don't have anything sensible to say!  Hope it goes well.

In reply to Drummer: I cannot help with your particular circumstances but I have had elbow surgery for medial epicondyle tendinopathy. This involved cutting and reattaching my medial tendon a bit similar to what you would have done with your triceps tendon as part of your procedure. Recovery was relatively easy and within 3 or 4 months I was back to full strength. After a year I had completely forgotten about it whilst climbing. Hope it goes well for you.
