Ex-pat sports travel insurance recommendations

Hi all,

I am resident in Mexico, and going to Canada for a ski touring trip in a month. 

Any recommendations for sports travel insurance company to use? I want insurance which will cover me for injury / hospital fees, rather than for insuring my equipment.

I am in the same situation as a UK expat living in Malaysia. I solved the issue by having an annual global travel insurance policy for flights, gear and hospital which covered me to hiking 5300m. Then I used Ripcord for the period above 5300m. I did not have to claim, but this method has been suggested several times on forums. Alternatively see if your standard insurance will cover ski mountaineering- I found that my standard travel insurance will cover diving to 30m providing I was on an organised trip and suitably qualified
