Daycare for dogs in Fort William

I'll be in Fort William some time in April/May, and I'm looking for daycare services to look after our dog for a day while we go climbing. I've found a couple of places that do day boarding but they are too inflexible with their check in and check out times - so much so that the climbing day would be severely compromised. In other parts of Scotland I've found dog walkers who will pick the dog up and look after it for the day it until we can get back to them in the afternoon or evening. I'm having difficulty finding this sort of service around Fort William. Google throws up any number of promising looking leads () but so far none have replied. Has anyone here on UKC needed or used any services like this? Or maybe know of someone in the area who does this?

Thanks

I’ve only used it in Yorkshire, but there is a website called Rover which is like airbnb for dogs. Obviously the person needs to accept but there could be a lot of people nearby who are more flexible.

Thanks, I'll try that.

My friend lives near Fort William and uses someone for the dog that he rates highly. Will be back in touch later.

Hi again. I spoke to my friend.

Unfortunately both places he uses are in Ballachullish and one of them is eyewateringly expensive!

I use Rover although have found it's a bit less easy to find sitters outside of cities. The other option is Borrowmydoggy. I've had a look and there's a fair few people around Fort William on it. I think you have to pay for a membership, but it's around the price of a day of dogcare for a year, and the borrowers don't charge.

I had a reply from someone at Rover saying that if she was free then she could look after our dog. Unfortunately we won't know when we want to climb until a couple of days before. Good contact though, thanks.

£55 for 10am to 5pm. Add on another £45 for overnight.

If that was 8:30 to 7:00 pm, I'd go for it - £45 isn't expensive for a day's work. But as it is, it's just too short. I'm guessing if I didn't show up at 5:00 he'd charge the overnight fee...
