I managed to crack the end of a (red) pole section at the weekend. Have Terra Nova changed the pole spec at any recent point in the history of the Quasar, or will a pole section for the latest Quasar work with previous models? The tent is currently in the boot of my car in London and will be remaining there when I head back home at the weekend. Unsure how old it is as it was a used purchase from UKC.

And while I'm asking, does anyone have good recommendations for where to find a replacement section (or full pole) that isn't from Terra Nova directly (ie at a sensible price)? 

I have the same issue. A circa 15 year old Expedition Super Quasar, a kinked pole section i would rather replace than break in use. 

My verdict was that they have changed the design of the quasar at some point over the last 10 years. 

They openly advertised a revised fly sheet. The poles may have also changed length so give them a call. very easy to deal with over the phone.

I've got an old quasar with poles I don't use anymore you're welcome to. Kendal based but I can put them in the post?

That's remarkably kind of you, thank you. It seems a shame though to then leave you with a tent that can't be used [/sold/gifted to someone] without sourcing another pole.

The tents old. One of the zips has seized. It won't be used again. The poles are newer as they are replacements.
