A while since I ve done more than two nights on the bounce and 1 litre was plenty or just used gas. I’m thinking 250 ml petrol per day for 2 people . So 1 litre should do 4 days. Might take a Back up little msr thingy  with small gas can .
edit : happy to be corrected

A fried egg, not a lot. Irish stew a lot more. How long is the piece of string in my cupboard?

Petrol? Wouldn't you be better off with white gas? I know Knoydart is remote but it's not Kazakhstan.

A litre typically used to last a week in font easily but that wasn't cooking every meal. If memory serves porridge and 2x runs of the espresso pot every morning, but mercifully only 3 or 4 dinners of red mess, would use about 500-750ml.

...having said that, from MSR's numbers, white gas (or whatever brand name it is under) is cleaner but not as efficient as Paraffin or Unleaded (though maybe not much in it except for the price difference).

I've only ever used White Gas with mine, but may switch to Paraffin when it runs out.

Assuming stove is in good working condition; no yellow flame,  and well shielded from wind. Plus the water is not near freezing.

100-150ml per day; Careful, all needed water measured out. Two cups of hot drinks per day per person. Porridge breakfast, cuppa soup starter, quick cook pasta and simple sauce, with may be a quick fry of some onions or chorizo. Will still have a bit of fuel left over (more if the water is warm to start with). In summer I quite often just take a 300ml bottle for two, for a standard w/e i.e only one evening meal, but two breakfasts and have a bit of fuel left over.

200-250ml per day;  Three cups per day per person, porridge breakfast left to soak post boiling water added ~ not simmered, cuppa soup, main includes some proper cooking needing boiling and then simmering for 5-10minutes, possibly second pan of water for pasta, possibly quick hot dessert, and a small flask.

300ml per day; as above but mugs rather than cups includes large 1 litre hot flask, possibly extra hot drink. Less need to be careful on measuring water quantities. I can normally just manage with a 550ml bottle in winter with water just above freezing for a standard w/e.

As soon as the stove is sub par, effected by wind, you boil too much water at each event, or there are ice crystals in the water the calculations become tight.

In reply to ScraggyGoat: thanks for this very thorough reply   That’s exactly what I needed.. thanks to all other replies to . In my experience White gas doesn’t last as long as petrol and is about 6 times the price per litre and that’s if you can find it . The dragonfly burns good quality ( as in bought in the uk ) unleaded very cleanly . I’ve never used it with dirty fuel , that’s what the XGK is for .

I can't remember the daily amount, but I think it was 1 litre for 8-9 days for two of us. Boil only porridge for brekky, boil only mugshots & sometimes custard for tea. No hot drinks. Don't quote me on that though, it was 14 years ago. I'm sure it was a litre though, as I only have a 1 litre fuel bottle! I definitely experimented with how long it took to boil the requisite amounts of water.

if using white gas rather than unleaded or paraffin / kerosene go to auto factors that does spray paints and get naptha panel wipe.

It is the same thing but much cheaper.

Even Aspen 4 fuel works out cheaper than Coleman stuff if you buy 5l
