I saw on FB that Ben Fogle and partner have taken over Buffalo, so I thought I'd see if there was anything on their website about future plans etc. The website now consists of a page asking me to subscribe (presumably before letting me see any information about their products or announcements about new owners / plans etc)

Is this normal? And has anyone got any reliable info on the plans for the brand?

Hmmm. At least Fogle is a regular wearer of the shirts. May have to buy one quickly in case of disaster!

I "need" another big face shirt although I never used the crotch strap thing and would chop it off (only ever used the strap a couple of times parachuting, never seemed that helpful even then) and a pair of special 6 trousers. However I haven't worn some for a while and I'm more ermmm.. "muscular" round the waist and rear than I used to be so I need to try them on

Apart from maybe Crib Goch Outdoors, does anyone know anywhere that might keep stock to try for size?

Looks to just be gathering interest by adding to their mailing list.

Not necessarily normal, but understandable if the takeover has just happened there'll likely be a review of the current business, if you're interested sign up and wait for any news from them directly?

Thanks, been years since I've been to Keswick 😢 too long! This could be the straw that broke the camel's back, must get up there

I see that also, noting the front/landing page of the website https://www.buffalosystems.co.uk/

Basecamp in Stockport? (they might have to get it in for you though)

It's updated to say they're launching a new website, so I'd check back soon or sign up if you're interested.

Seems they've already increased their social media efforts a bit, so it'll be interesting to see what they do with the brand, can it ever be cool?

It's normal, build's a mailing list which the older 'mom & pop' approach that Hamish Hamilton and his successors did so well without to a point but now there is new money in the business Fogle will want to maximise his investment, and data is everything.

I'm seeing future collaborations with Supreme, a Dean Street collection, a S/S & W/A runway collection, and a pre-distressed collection with duck tape patches and seam-seal smears artfully applied. Arcteryx will be so last year, and the fashion look du-jour will be hoiked-up crotch straps.

Hope it all goes well tbh as Buffalo have delivered fantastic bits of kit that exceed expectations - Fogle though, he's on my list of people I find thoroughly irritating even though I have no experience of the man, just behind Michael Mackintyre.

I don't want "cool" I want "bombproof toasty warmth". Cool brands tend to dick around with designs that work, just because, err, fashion.

I've signed up so I'll see what's what in due course.
