Simon Richardson is a highly accomplished mountaineer renowned for his pioneering contributions to Scottish winter climbing, where he has made hundreds of first ascents, pushing the boundaries of the discipline for over four decades. In addition to his extensive achievements in Scotland, he has also established new routes in the Alps and other mountain regions. Richardson has played a leading role in the mountaineering community, serving as President of the Scottish Mountaineering Club and currently as President of the Alpine Club—the world's oldest alpine club—demonstrating his deep commitment to the history, ethics, and future of alpinism.
