Hi all. I've already completed mountaineer training and just completed a trip up Gran Paradiso. I've done many hikes but am interested in doing some winter hikes up Ben Nevis to get more experience. Would anyone know of a club I could join so I could go with others?

In reply to casey1975:

That would depend significantly on where you are based probably, lots of local mountaineering clubs will have meets up that way in winter.

Hi Spenser. Thanks for the reply. I'm based in South East England but am able to fly up for meetings a few times a year.

'Winter' plus 'fly up a few times a year'. Hmmm.

Very welcoming response to a new user who may or may not understand it . My guess is your user name is your 2nd , 3rd or 4th after bans for being a grump tw@t ? My guess is that you have also done your share of flying around Europe / the world in pursuit of a totally  unnecessary hobby ? Hands up ….I have so feel I have no right to wag my finger at anybody else  .

There are several London / national clubs who organise winter meets in Scotland . Hopefully somebody friendly  will be along soon .

Actually, no, and I could have been a lot less polite. My point was to raise  a thought which perhaps hadnt occurred to the OP, not to be condemnatory. And if expressing a concern for the environment makes me grumpy well so be it. BTW if you criticise others for breaking guidelines then maybe don't  swear at them. And yes , partially redacted swearing is swearing.

Hi Casey, if you’re based in London maybe reach out to Rockhoppers (https://www.rockhoppers.org.uk/). From what you’ve said it’s sounds like it could be a good fit. I’m not a member so cannot vouch for it directly but I’m sure others here will be able to.
Hope you’ll have a great time in Scottish winter, it’s a real treat! (But it can also turn into an epic very very quickly, so good shout to look for an experienced group to go with at first.)

Thanks for the reply A.C.Gull. Scheduled flights run regardless of me being on them or not. Going in my car is adding more pollution? I don't want to argue or sound arrogant, I was just wanting to get some experience in Scottish mountains and since I've been before and liked it very much I wanted to do it a couple more times a year.
