Has anyone tried using the Petzl Fil Flex adaptor on Black Diamond crampons, specifically the Snaggletooth?
I currently climb in La Sportiva G5 Evos (B3) with BD Stingers (C3), but for faster, lighter objectives I’ve picked up a pair of La Sportiva Trango Pro GTX (a stiff B2). The Snaggletooth seems like the ideal crampon for these boots, but BD only make it in a fully automatic (C3) version.
The Petzl Fil Flex converts their own C3 crampons into a semi-automatic (C2) setup, and on paper it looks like it should work with other brands too, unless there’s a mismatch in the diameter/fit of the front bail.
Has anyone tried this combo, or know if it works in practice?
