Ice Tool for Axe throwing, can it be done?

As title suggests, has anyone had any luck axe throwing a technical axe into wood?

Can be done into Ice yes, but what about a wooden target? (trying to save the purchase of some throwing axes)

I could go out and try it, but before I spend the time sharpening an old pair...

You can axe throw into wood with a less technical tool (me and my kids have had great fun throwing an old 50cm Camp ice axe into a tree trunk cross section) though we've not tried anything drop pick.

I have an old Chacal and Barracuda that I think are well weighted for this

I've seen it done successfully - so go for it.

Your real challenge will be to source a large rotating wooden wheel, and a scantily-clad female assistant to strap to it.

I can think of one female I'd like to see "trussed" to such a wheel - but definitely not scantily clad.

I personally attempted it and wound up running away from my own axe recoiling towards me like the second guy...so exercise caution...
