Hello!

My name's Ed, I'm based in Gloucester and looking to get back into trad - I used to climb a lot when I lived in the Cairngorms but since moving South 5 years ago I haven't managed to get back out, mainly due to the lack of a climbing buddy!

I had a bad fall in January of 2020 and knocked my confidence a lot. Before that was climbing HS/VS and up to 6a sport. I'd also completed my RCI training and was due to do my assessment before the pandemic messed that up!

Basically looking to get back out and rebuild confidence and get ready to sit RCI assessment in 2026. I have a full trad rack and a 60m triple rated rope so can provide all the gear!

Hi Ed -- what about joining a club?  The GMC has an active programme of meets and trips, and we have our monthly social tomorrow at 270.  Look out for people wearing GMC t-shirts, and come and say hi -- and/or drop me an email via my profile on here.

Afraid I'm now not able to come... but others will be there in the cafe from 8pm, and likely to be climbing before that.
