I'm working just outside Bradford & staying in Wibsey, are there any walls in the area?

In reply to Andy Hay: Richard Dunn Sports Centre at Odsal Top. Old and crap, but it's a wall. Withing two minutes of Wibsey.

Fairly sure the Richard Dunn centre has been closed a while, or that's what the receptionist told me ten years ago.

Would suggest making a trip to the Depot which is in Pudsey

Hi,

If you are working there a while there is a new climbing centre opening up just down the motorway at Brighouse in the 1st week of April.

Google Rokt Climbing wall or look on facebook and you should find it (they also need volunteers at the moment to help out with DIY and route setting before it opens if you fancy that in your spare time!).

Nearest will be the Leeds Wall or Huddersfield.

Dicky Dunns (made famous in Climbers) bit the dust around 10 years ago as someone else said.

Your nearest outdoor grit is Woodhouse and Ogden Clough

I alway thought Ogden Clough was a good PG Wodehouse style name

I digress.

Also, if you want a beer, the Dog and Gun at the top of St Enochs is a decent pub,. Thye Foresters is ok but mostly kids looking to kick off and the Swan not bad. Avoid the Windmill as it is rough as arseholes.

The Depot is by far your closest, until Brighouse opens. you've got the bradford ring road, but if you drive, no more than 20/30 mins I'd guess. Further to Leeds wall. When Brighouse opens, it'll be about the same, maybe a bit less.

by helicopter? takes me a minimum of 40 from Leeds to get to the wall.

In reply to Andy Hay: The depot in Pudsey is the closest as the crow flies but by jumping on the m606 followed by the m62 and on to the m621 you will be able to get to the Leeds wall faster.

It has been taking us 35 minutes from Shipley in the evening.
