Hi. Haven't been in years. Anyone here climb there regularly? What's it like? Busy? Routes re set regularly?

In reply to sihills:

As you know it's a small wall, perhaps 8 metres at max. Currently there is a pause in route setting while some issues are being sorted, hopefully soon. Routes are a mix as there is a range of volunteer setters so probably some styles you may like and others less so. They tend to be tough, to get the grades as they are short. There are 2 auto belays. It is cheaper than other nearby walls. It is not often busy but is used for instruction Saturdays and Monday evenings so perhaps busiest then.

Cheers for the reply mate. Do you by any chance know what sorta grades are on the autobelay lines? Lacking climbing partners and need to get fit!

In reply to sihills:

The steeper auto belay has routes upto 6c+ and the vertical wall up to7a. The steeper wall is featured so gives variety if you're happy to make your own routes up. It's better than nowt!

Whilst it's still open The Sands wall in Carlisle has 4 auto belays and a small bencrete bouldering  cave. Grades from 4 - 7b and probs about 25 routes.

Quiet after 8pm Thurs and fri and weekends always quiet*

* Loud dance music or instructors shouting for a few hours every day but there are quiet times to climb.
