If there is one product that Edelrid is known for it's climbing rope. After inventing the first Kernmantle rope in 1953, Edelrid have been at the forefront of climbing rope design & innovation. The Swift Eco Dry takes these years of experience & puts them into a rope that is kind to the planet whilst still maintaining the high performance and durability that Edelrid ropes are famous for.
Edelrid & bluesign®
One of the areas that Edelrid is a step ahead of the competition is the eco-friendly aspect of our rope production, all of our Pro and Sport Line ropes meet the bluesign® standard.
The bluesign® system is the solution for a sustainable textile production. It eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the manufacturing process. It also sets and controls standards for an environmentally friendly and safe production.
As climbers & mountaineers we want to do everything we can to protect the natural world we play in, we believe this a big step in the right direction.
One of the main selling points of the Swift Eco Dry is the fact that it is made from recycled yarns left over from our production. It is also the first PFC-free rope to meet the UIAA water repellent standard. A rope that lives up to it's name.

Comments
I had a Mammut rope made like this. It was the worst-handling rope I've ever used. It was also even uglier than the one pictured in the article.
I don't know about the handling but I like the low impact colour - will blend in with limestone
Hi,
As mentioned in the article this rope features our Thermo Shield treatment. This gives the rope excellent handling. The recycled yarns make no difference in terms of rope quality or feel.
The recycled yarns also mean that each Swift Eco Dry is unique. So hopefully you'll find one that you like the look of.
