WINNER - Win a Pair of Scarpa Booster Competition

© Scarpa

WINNER: atrendall

The Booster is - in the words of Scarpa Designer Nathan Hoette - "all about the precision". It took 87 prototypes to get to the point where he and Scarpa's Climbing Shoe Category Manager, Heinz Mariacher, were happy with its weight and sensitivity. Designed with both the boulderer and the sport climber in mind, the Booster is gearerd to perform equally well on both small edges and smears. Here's your chance to win a pair...

The Booster features an asymmetrical, downturned shape and a one-third length Vibram® XS Grips 2 sole. This creates a flexible shoe that allows more natural movement through overhanging, thin routes. The DTS rand enhances powerful movements through dynamic problems by concentrating the strength of the foot through an asymmetrical support ribbon. This drives energy to the forefoot while the PAF system helps reduce over-compression of the toes and provides a snug fitting heel.

All of this adds up to create an extremely precise climbing shoe ideal for moving with precision over technical and overhanging rock.

The Booster has been made using Vegan friendly materials and glue.

  • Last: FZC
  • Sole: Vibram XS Grip 2 3.5 mm
  • Upper: Microfibre
  • Vegan Friendly: Yes
  • Weight: 490g (per pair 40)

"The Booster is at home on any overhanging rock faces where the footholds are small and the movements are technical, but don't get me wrong, the Booster will adapt to slabs and vertical rock faces, it just won't be as adept as say an Instinct or a Maestro. The Booster is built for rock, and thus its talents are wasted indoors where Drago's, Chimeras and Furia S/Airs are at home, but it will perform regardless in this domain, and perhaps even exceptionally well on indoor routes as opposed to boulders"

Clever use of competition to drive web/blog visits! Unless you've climbed in Boosters and Drago's, or at least fondled them in a gear store like some sort of rubber obsessed person, you've gotta read the blog for the answer! Well done MBC👏

New marketing speak "vegan friendly materials"... I suspect my older Vapours would glass a Vegan...

What a faff finding that answer.... just stick to my instinct laces thanks.
