The Booster is the newest climbing shoe to be introduced to the Scarpa Spring Summer 2020 climbing range. It follows on from the old classic Booster S with some exciting new developments.

It is a light, ultra-sensitive shoe for bouldering and sport climbing on small edges and smears. An asymmetrical, downturned shape and a one-third length Vibram® XS Grips 2 sole creates a flexible shoe that allows more natural movement through overhanging, thin routes. The DTS rand enhances powerful movements through dynamic problems by concentrating the strength of the foot through an asymmetrical support ribbon; driving energy to the forefoot while the PAF system helps reduce over-compression of the toes and provides a snug fitting heel.

The updated Booster features a new tension system and the exceptional power adjusting fit heel. A tool of the highest precision combined with unique sensitivity and comfort for a performance shoe.

It is a precision climbing shoe but it still flexible enough for smearing.

All of this adds up to create an extremely precise climbing shoe ideal for moving with precision over technical and overhanging rock.

SCARPA athlete Robbie Phillips has been testing the Booster out the last few weeks and this is what he has to say about them.

"When Prometheus gave fire to the Greeks, he was punished for it... The Gods said that the humans could not handle the flames! In centuries to come, it won't be Prometheus's name spoken, but Heinz, and it won't be fire, but Booster that he brought down from Olympus!"

"The new Booster stems from a long line of succession; from the original Booster that showed me how a well-designed shoe really does make a difference, to the Booster-S whose cult following extended to every corner of the globe. The Booster is a climbing shoe that imbibes the saying "When you know, you know!" - it's a specialists tool, that to the climber who knows is as invaluable to their tool kit as a hammer is to a builder. In decades to come you'll come to say "Where were you when the Booster came out?", for that was the moment when climbing hard became easy!"

"What Maestro is to edging, and Drago is to smearing, Booster is to precision! If you want unrelenting power through your toes on steep ground, then look no further... The Booster is the ultimate shoe for steep sport climbing and bouldering, when power and grip makes all the difference"
