The Association of British Climbing Walls is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Conference in Sheffield on the 5th and 6th of July 2018.

The event has two components – the AGM and the Annual Conference

AGM - 5th July 4-6pm

Free to attend for members of the association, this year's AGM is really important for the ABC. To become compliant with the Code for Sports Governance, the Management Committee have put in a huge amount of work to update the Articles of Association and members will be asked to vote on their adoption, as well as to appoint two new Directors.

Chair Rich Emerson said, "even if [members] are unable to make the conference it would be great to see [them] at the AGM so we can vote the new Articles in and set the ABC off on the next stage of it's development; supporting the professionalism, health and growth of the industry".

Members are able to download the agenda for the AGM, the existing and proposed Articles and other supporting documents from the member's area of the ABC website. The session also features the AGM of the Association of British Climbing Walls Training Trust, the charity behind NICAS and NIBAS schemes run across the country

Annual Conference

This year the Annual Conference will be bigger and better than ever before. The ABC have moved the timing and the location to allow more people to attend, have more exhibitors and make it easier to get to. Further, the city-centre location now more closely reflects the generally urban setting of indoor climbing walls.

Over the past 4 years the event has grown alongside the industry – this year it includes a range of speakers, exhibitors and thought-leaders that cannot be found at any other single event in the UK. Tickets are available for members and non-members to book via the ABC website, with as many as 75 walls expected to be represented at the event.

Event Highlights

Following the AGM the ABC are hosting a not-to-be-missed evening of drinks and streetfood with Niall Grimes and a Q & A session with Jerry Moffatt exploring the past, present and future of indoor climbing.

  • Dedicated tradeshow-style exhibition space to allow attendees to meet great partners
