The Mountain Boot Co Ltd is a market leading distributor of premium outdoor and climbing brands including Scarpa, deuter, Grivel and Sea to Summit. We are seeking to appoint an After Sales Manager to head up a busy and crucial department. 

Established in 1995 -The company has built an enviable reputation for best-in-class customer service and after sales, for both its retailers and end consumers. This position is pivotal in maintaining standards and reputation. We are looking for an individual who can pro-actively take the department to a new level of efficiency and customer experience, alongside a drive on repair and sustainability in line with our green manifesto policy. 

  • Working from our Newcastle Headquarters responsibilities will include:
  • Managing an existing team and overseeing the potential evolution/expansion of the department to meet the business goals for the future. 
  • Processing retailer and direct consumer returns in the most efficient timeframes.
  • Where necessary providing clear feedback on and managing any disputes over claims. 
  • Recording of returns and reporting to both management team and suppliers. 
  • Management of repair centre relationships, including procurement of material and spare parts. 
  • Return and re-claims to our supply base and ensuring best ethical management of disposals. 

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • A passion for the outdoors. 
  • Ideally experience in the outdoor industry and or customer service sector. 
  • Ability to manage a small team and work within the larger organisation. 
  • A proven track record in delivering excellence in service.
  • Strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills, ideally with experience of working on and building databases. 
  • Ability to work calmly and make logical decisions under pressure.

The business is offering an attractive salary linked to experience, supported with a generous package of benefits including optional pension scheme, private medical, death in service, staff allowance and account, FOC access to local climbing walls. Holiday allocation starting at 22 days, rising to 25 with years of service plus statutory days. 

Please note this role, does involve significant time on your feet and at times a high degree of physical work/manual handling.
