The Westminster Lodge Climbing Wall in St Albans is looking for new coaches to add to its team.

About us

For over nine years the Westminster Lodge Climbing wall has delivered climbing to the local community. With 33 regularly reset roped routes ranging from grades 4-7b and a bouldering wall with 30 problems ranging from v0 to v6 our wall offers plenty of options for our climbing customers and requires a wide range of coaches to fully optimise our facility.

Our sessions include a NICAS junior club which sees over a hundred young climbers attending each week, private coaching, junior squad, beginner courses and a variety of taster and group sessions.

Who we're looking for

Over the remainder of 2022 we're focusing on rebuilding our coaching team and we're looking for a mix of pre qualified coaches (CWI, CWDI, RCI or equivalent) as well as keen experienced climbers looking to start their career in coaching, and take advantage of our comprehensive and extensive in house training programme.

We're offering a range of different part time and full time shift patterns. These will include working some evenings and weekends to align with the climbing walls peak times.

Please bear in mind that the training dates are subject to change, but all applicants will be required to attending an induction regardless of qualifications.

The rate of pay starts at £10 per hour for in house trained coaches, and £15 per hour for those with either a CWI or RCI qualification. Applicants but be aged 18 or over by the time of required training date.
