Stronghold Climbing Centres is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and professional Coach to join our team. Working across both centres (Tottenham Hale & London Fields), the Climbing Coach will deliver the NICAS syllabus (Level 1, 2 & 3) for children and young people (7-16 year of age), as well as working with adults in groups and on an individual basis.

ABOUT STRONGHOLD

Stronghold began in Tottenham Hale and, over the last six years, we've established strong roots within this part of North London. We have built close relations with schools and youth groups in the community, as well as developing our youth climbing pathway from grassroots to performance. Role: Stronghold Climbing Coach

Full Time hours (40hrs) available. Minimum 20hrs.

Reporting to the Lead Coaches, we are looking for an experienced Climbing Coach to join Stronghold and deliver our ever-expanding coaching programme. The coach will be responsible for planning and delivering safe, fun and engaging climbing sessions at our Tottenham Hale and London Fields sites. We provide in-house training, as well as support to access the coaching pathway from Mountain Training UK.

Coaches are expected to deliver pre-planned climbing sessions to a variety of groups of all ages and abilities such as adults, children, beginners, corporate groups and schools. The Lead Coaches provide the session plans, as well as supervision and training for all Climbing Coaches.

The role includes supporting the Stronghold staff on daily operational duties, such as reception and/or cafes. In house training provided.

Essential Requirements

• CWI, RCI or Foundation Coach trained.
• Experience and keen interest in instructing/coaching children and adults, on an indoor bouldering environment.
• Excellent communication skills and great customer service.
• Flexible to work evenings and/or weekends.
• Willingness to work with people with different abilities.
• Desired Requirements
• CWI, RCI or Foundation Coach assessed.
• Experience delivering the NICAS Bouldering syllabus.
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• Outdoor climbing experience and interest in developing a career within the climbing industry.
