The Association of British Climbing Walls are looking for a driven and highly organised self starter to join our friendly team as the Membership & Marketing Coordinator.
This is a largely remote part time role and gives a fascinating inside track on the workings of the indoor climbing industry.
ABOUT THE ABC
The ABC is a small but ambitious organisation set to improve the opportunities and experience of the climbing wall industry and everyone that engages with it. Our mission is to promote the professionalism, health, growth and diversity of indoor climbing. Working with our close network of sector partners we aim to raise the profile of indoor climbing in a positive way such that everyone feels welcome and proud to be involved. Through our efforts to improve the safety, professionalism and diversity of our industry we look to further improve the experience of climbers and the quality of the workforce; creating habits and career pathways that keep people in the sport for life.

THE ROLE
Membership Management
- Nurture ABC member relationships
- Maintain the ABC Membership database including
- Maintaining and update the website
- Continually seek ways to improve processes and the ABC membership overall
- Deal with & redirect inbound enquiries from members and non-members via the admin@ email
- Communicate with the finance team and manage payments
Conference Logistics Support
- Support the CEO and conference coordinator with logistics for the ABC conference
- Including but not limited to: administering bookings, answering exhibitor questions, updating conference web pages
Marketing
- Market & promote the ABC and its work
- Create monthly member newsletters
- Manage the ABC Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts
- Create on-brand social media posts and updates using Canva
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Excellent communication through a variety of formats including excellent written English/ copywriting
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to stay on top of and prioritise several work streams
- Tech literate, and able to pick up new apps/programs quickly
- Knowledge of basic design/comms principles
- Social media management
- An interest in indoor climbing
Desirable:
- Good Wordpress literacy
- Comfortable working in Google Workspace
- Experience with minute taking
- Experience working in event logistics, or any other logistics-heavy project(s)
- Experience working within a remote team
PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Confident self-starter who can work well on their own initiative
- Ability to build positive relationships with the team and ABC members
- High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed in a growing organisation
- Highly organised and able to work effectively and to deadlines
- Detail oriented
