We're looking for a 32-hour a week Duty Manager, and combined Route Setter/Duty Manager.

Duty Manager

32 hours a week

Description

This is a 'whole of service' role. Working as one of several Duty Managers, you will be responsible for the delivery of our entire service to our customers. You will be supported by an onsite Centre Manager and Deputy CM, and a head office team in Cardiff.

The role will involve:

• Running the "front of house" operations, including checking customers into the centre, preparing food and drink, selling products and answering enquiries.
• Ensuring the centre is clean and in good repair.
• Running coaching/instructional sessions, from adult inductions through to weekly kids clubs.

Desired requirements:

• A good understanding of the climbing industry and community
• Climbing/bouldering coaching qualifications
• Instructing/coaching/teaching experience
• Have experience of working within a climbing centre in a supervisory role

Wage and Benefits

• £24,500.00-£25,400.00 per annum, prorated

Route Setter

32 hours a week (16 hours Setting, and 16 hours Duty Management)

Description

We are looking for a part time Route Setter to join our team in Cheltenham. The opportunity is available for a candidate who would like 2x 8-hour setting shifts and 2x 8-hour Duty Manager shifts (32-hour contract) each week. (Could consider 3x8-hour DM shifts bringing total hours to 40 per week for right candidate).

The Route Setting role will involve:

• Setting, grading and testing the blocs in Boulders Cheltenham.
• Uploading the grades to Griptonite and videos to social media.
• Overseeing and helping to resolve maintenance issues in the centre.

Ideal Candidates must:

• Have experience route setting in other centres
• Have a history of setting creative and interesting blocs, with a good understanding of indoor bouldering
• Have strong communication skills
• Be good at giving feedback to others, even if it is sometimes difficult or constructive feedback
• Be good at listening to feedback from customers and the setting team below them
• Be able to leave their ego at the door

Route Setting Hours Wage and Benefits

• £24,500 to £27,000 per annum, prorated
