Duty Manager (32hrs)
High Sports have been operating indoor climbing centres across the UK for over 30 years. Back in 2014 we opened our Brighton site which quickly became established as one of the best sport climbing centres in the South East with a fantastic and diverse climbing community. We have an opportunity for someone to join that community in the role of a Duty Manager.
The Centre
Our Brighton site has 58 rope lines which includes an extensive dedicated lead wall up to 13m. The centre also has a bouldering area with over 70 problems and a dedicated training area. We offer all types of instruction from beginners through to performance coaching and the centre is a NICAS level 5 primary centre.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has a passion for all styles of climbing & who loves to share this with others. This is a permanent position with hours split across daytime, evenings and weekends with the potential for ad-hoc additional hours.
Ideally you will have experience working in a related industry manging a small team. You must present as confident and approachable both to staff and customers as well as having excellent customer service skills, an ability to resolve issues and be driven to help push the centre forward.
The role
As Duty Manager you will be responsible for assisting in the management of instruction and desk team in addition to instructing sessions and working on the desk. The Duty Manager will also have additional administrative tasks, these include: opening & closing the centre where needed, cash handling, input into H&S policies, managing and carrying out equipment inspections and maintenance tasks, promoting our values and inspiring our customers both existing and new. The Duty Manager will also deputise for the Centre Manager where required.

- Equipment/inventory management
- First Aid and safeguarding certificate
- An interest in and knowledge of climbing and the related news and trends
